Application 2
Material manufacturer
The starting point: A large portfolio with untapped potential
Material manufacturers often have dozens to hundreds of grades in their portfolio. Without structured material testing and comparison against market benchmarks, much of this potential remains invisible. Fully characterizing every grade metrologically also involves significant time and cost.
The solution: MatIQ and StrömungsRaum®
With MatIQ and StrömungsRaum®, you bring your entire portfolio to simulation level in three steps.
Step 1 – Import data: Upload master and datasheet values for 50 to 500 materials via bulk upload – optionally supplemented with formulation or filler information. Material analysis groups similar grades, maps key differences, and makes your portfolio directly comparable.
Step 2 – Minimize measurement effort: The system identifies three to four reference materials for full characterization – all other grades are reliably derived from this basis. Each material card receives a quality label that transparently indicates its data maturity.
Step 3 – Deliver recommendations: For every target application – whether injection molding or extrusion – the material testing system provides a traceable top recommendation from your portfolio, supplemented by commercial and environmental indicators such as carbon footprint and cost metrics. You decide how much detail of your model parameters is shared externally.
Your benefits at a glance
- Scalable onboarding – bring 50 to 500 materials to simulation level quickly and in a structured way
- Less measurement effort – fully characterize only a few reference materials and derive the rest reliably with data-driven methods
- Clear market positioning – systematically compare your grades with standard market materials, highlight strengths in performance and suitability, and differentiate clearly from competitors
- Well-founded material recommendations – technically convincing, commercially traceable, and with an indicated quality level
- Sharper sales arguments – convince with facts and clear recommendations on grade suitability for specific application fields
